Can IM4 connect to my current SIS? What data can be imported?
IM4 is a web based application that does not directly connect to any specific student information systems.
Student information data that can be exported from your student information system (SIS) via an Excel (XLS) or CSV file can be imported into IM4. Currently this is done on a case by case basis as we have schools that use a wide variety of student information systems. To learn more specifics about this process see this article.
Where is this data stored?
The data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database on AWS.
Can we send import data via SFTP?
We could probably work this out if absolutely necessary, but there are good alternatives that are easier to use, like https://send.tresorit.com/.
Will we have access to the backend database?
We don’t allow raw database access, but we can export student and intervention data to text-based formats (CSV, Excel) when asked. At some point in the future, we’ll likely add an API for consuming data, but that’s a ways off.
Do you do anything with this data? Are you running reports or information from our student's information for the U of M?
Currently no, we don't do anything with the data for the U of M.
What happens to our data when/if we leave this tool?
If you choose to end your subscription, we can store, archive, export, or delete your data. This will be up to you how you would like to proceed at that time.
What privacy policy's do you have in place to protect/ not use our student data?
Here is a link to the Privacy Policy: https://app.im4education.com/privacy/
